One day is fine, next day is black…

I updated the schema and the PCB to version 0.5 introducing the MIDI-IN. Unfortunately I have not had time to complete the tests... Obviously, MIDI devices are optional. I updated also the schema for the jacks to version 0.3, in particular the schema to connect the Yamaha cymbals to the  microDRUM. I also made a Parts List because someone asked me in the forum. Be careful, I have never bought on Mouser ...

A friend in need’s a friend indeed…

I created a new page where we can enter the best settings for the pads and cymbals. For now, I just added the Roland and Yamaha models (let me know if they are missing) but I would find a way to also include the settings for generic DIY pads and cymbals.

In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings…

Satisfaction came in a chain reaction…

I inserted a new version of PCB and Schema (v0.4). Who knows Arduino know that every time you connect the USB Arduino resets and you have to reprogram it. To avoid this in version 0.3 of the PCB, I introduced a 120 Ohm resistance that prevents autoreset. Unfortunately this makes it difficult to re-program Arduino, so I added this change: In this way you can use the switches. When contact A is ...

I’ve learned some things about myself I wish I didn’t know…

There are many ways to make use of electronics in a HH and HH-pedal. In my opinion the best way is to send a Control Change (CC) with a value between 0-127 that indicates the degree of openness of the pedal. In this way any VST (like Addictive Drums) knows exactly the degree of openness and depending on how the cymbal gets shot  (bow, edge, etc. ..) generates the appropriate sound. ...

And when your fears subside…

A few days ago I created   Tested VSTs Page . On this page I list the VST that work directly with my software. In addition to commercial VST, I'm discovering that the SFZ files work well. On the page I added a player free, some sample packs and their mappings SFZ. If you have any proposals ...

But touch my tears with your lips…

Thanks to Dan I decided to update the schema of the jacks. It is not yet completed but it is already clear. You can find it in pdf format on the Download page. With everyone's help we can improve microDRUM!!!
