These days I wondered what is the future of microDrum? The project started as a joke but now it need a long time to be brought forward, in particular, considering the number of ideas that came to my mind this year, I think I can not do it alone.
For example I would like to equip a small microDrum control interface, I would create a hardware module to generate the sounds, I will introduce support for pads and cymbals non-standard , etc. … but also continue the development of what has been done takes time, to introduce the positional sensing, to improve the firmware, to continue developing for the iPhone and iPad, etc. …
For this reason I decided to release the firmware microDrum like Open Source, so anyone can improve it, study it, or add new features to the delight of all. I thought, however, to “assess” how much interest can raise my decision by asking at those interested a little effort. Below right I modified the plugin for donations, I will ask anyone interested in the future of microDrum to make a (small) donation, when the total of donations will reach € 1000, I will release the firmware’s code open source (the license the I still have to choose,I accept suggestions). What do you think?
In questi giorni mi sono domandato quale sarà il futuro di microDrum? Il progetto è nato quasi per gioco ma adesso richiede molto tempo per essere portato avanti, in particolare, considerando il numero di idee che mi sono venute in mente in questo anno, penso di non potercela fare da solo.
Ad esempio vorrei dotare la microDrum di una piccola interfaccia di controllo, vorrei creare un modulo hardware per generare i suoni, vorrei introdurre il supporto per pad e piatti non standard, ecc… ma anche continuare lo sviluppo di quello che è stato fatto richiede tempo, introdurre il positional sensing , migliorare il firmware, continuare lo sviluppo per iPad e iPhone, ecc…
Per questo motivo ho pensato di rilasciare il firmware della microDrum Open Source, in questo modo chiunque potrà migliorarlo, studiarlo o aggiungere nuove features per la gioia di tutti. Ho pensato però di “valutare” quanto interesse può suscitare questa mia decisione chiedendo a chi interessato un piccolo sforzo. In basso a destra ho modificato il plugin per le donazioni, chiedo a chiunque sia interessato al futuro della microDrum di fare una (piccola) donazione, al raggiungimento di 1000€ rilascerò il codice del firmware Open Source (la licenza la devo ancora scegliere, accetto suggerimenti). Cosa ne pensate?
